HDR Engineering Inc. (HDR) and District staff have worked through a review of the current water rate structure to develop an alternative rate structure. This has included reviewing rate structure options for residential, commercial, irrigation, residential business, multi-commercial, multi-family and check detector that align with the goals and objectives of the District. The study objectives included maintaining equity between customer classes, implementing tiered rate structures to provide conservation signals, as well as developing rates to align with the District’s customer classes and their unique characteristics. The NPW Board of Commissioners voted on March 7, 2024 to approve the changes effective with the 8/1/24 billing which includes consumption from June and July 2024.

Tiered Rate Structure

North Perry Water has moved to a tiered rate structure for most all user groups, where the cost of water increases with the amount of water used.

Tiers 1 & 2

The Basic Rate, together with Tiers 1 and 2, are meant to provide surety to water system operations while ensuring reasonable water usage remains affordable.

Tiers 3 & 4

Tiers 3 and 4 are structured to encourage conservation and recoup additional capital improvement funds from high-water users.
